Al-Meezan was founded by concerned parents in October of 1991. This was in response to the inquisitive queries of their two young children, they were raising in the USA. The children would challenge every Islamic practice by their question, Why?. The parents would search and research the answers, directly from the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (S), for them and for thousands of children like them, in the West. The compilation of these answers took the shape of books and the workbooks that were eventually found their way into Islamic schools as text books and reference books. The objective was to build character of the young Muslim children, on the teachings of the Qur’an and the Sunnah,.

Ten years later, in October of 2001, Al-Meezan International was incorporated, as a publishing and distributing company, in the State of Illinois, USA, with the following objectives:

1. To develop books on the subjects that are fundamental to Islam and Islamic behavior.
2. To provide information consistently based on the Qur'anic `ayat and `ahadith showing that the knowledge is founded in the basic sources of Islam.
3. To teach Islamic concepts and principles for spiritual reasons and reinforce for reasons of moral, mental, and physical wellbeing.
4. To develop teaching material according to the comprehension level of the readers - primary, elementary, junior, and senior levels.

`My Little Book’ series is written for children, interestingly adults have been found to read these books and learn as well. Alhumduli’llah.
